All
specimens MUST be properly prepared before shipping
to us.
1.
Ears, lips, and eyes turned, and faces fleshed.
2.
Properly flesh all red meat and heavy fat from skins. Without
this being done the salt is not allowed to penetrate
and set the hair on the hide.
3.
Salt all specimens, leave for 24 hours and then re-salt.
After another 24 hour period, shake off the excess
salt and hang skins up to dry
4. Skins
should be approximately 75% dry when shipped. Over
drying may cause skins to
become too brittle. Skins that are
too wet
when shipped may increase risk of mildew and/or slippage.
5.
Please remove staples, nails, wires or metal tags.
These items ruin our shaver's blades and slow them
down considerably.
