What is Dip & Pack?
The process starts in the field right after you have harvested your trophy.  After the initial skinning the trophies are dipped in a salt solution with an anti bacterial chemical. - then salted and dried. Skulls are boiled and then usually bleached and cleaned.   All trophies should be lightly dusted with an insecticide .  Clients can be of great help to check whether this is being carried out in the field.

Dip and pack refers to the next part of the process. It is the process that is carried out as follows:

Paperwork filled in and cleared by national parks, customs and the shipping agents respectively - this can be very time-consuming and frustrating should your dip and pack agent not know intimately know the process.

Trophies are "dipped" that is, fumigated for insects and parasites, then wrapped, inventoried, inspected and crated in anticipation of shipping.

Zimbawe Dip and Pack as led by Andy Hunter is able to complete this process within 6 months at the most, but achieving this in three or four months is not unusual.

The trophies are then taken to the shipping company and the process continues.
